Fungi Father's Day Treats!

Happy's Father's Day to a Real "Fungi"!!

Get it?  Okay, Okay, so maybe it is a little bit cheesy, but I thought it was adorable when I caught a glimpse of this idea in Family Fun Magazine!  It is our green craft for the week as we reused a glass jar from mushrooms......LOL

You will need:Pretzels, jar, model magic air dry clay, chocolate for melting

First step is to make chocolate covered pretzels:

Use two pots one smaller around but taller to create a double boiler.  Fill the larger round one half way with water and bring to a boil.  Place the melting chocolate in the smaller round pot.  Once the water is boiling, place the chocolate filled pot inside the other pot being careful not to get any water in the chocolate.  Stirring constantly, melt the chocolate.

Remove the chocolate from the heat and dip the pretzels into the chocolate to coat them.  Use tongs to remove them and to tap them on the side to remove excess chocolate into the bowl.
Place them on a piece of wax paper or parchment paper.  Place them in the freezer to harden.

Now it is time to make your toadstool jar.  Be sure to clean the jar and lid thoroughly.  Open the Model Magic clay and knead the red until it is smooth. Use it to create a toadstool on the top of the jar.  Add white spheres and pres them into the clay for the dots.

After the clay has dried overnight, fill your jar up with those yummy pretzels, create a gift tag, and give them to the "Fungi" in your life!

He is going to LOVE IT!!!

Enjoy!
